I joined the DSA in March 2026 as training wheels to learn about activism, how to be an activist, and also to find new books to read. My city did not have a chapter, so it's been mostly a matter of waiting these past few months until the chapter can meet the 5 member requirement.
In terms of beliefs, I do share an interest in a reform in Healthcare in the US. I believe a mixed system that incorporates European Universal Healthcare could be beneficial, although I do have concerns of how that can come to pass. In Swallow Pines, I explore one of those concerns through private industry finding a different vulnerable population to exploit (Prisoners), when they're unable to charge citizens.
I also don't believe States should charge a sales tax on period products. I learned about this while reading Blood by Dr. Jen Gunter. According to Allianceforperiodsupplies.org, (as of March 20, 2026) 18 states still charge a sales tax.
Xalsier is pronounced similarly to the latin motto 'Excelsior', with the addition of an 'A'. It can also be pronounced starting with a 'Z' (ie Zal, Zalsier, ザルシア (Zarushia)). The name is often confused with Xavier.
The name Xalsier is a combination of X with an anagram of the word 'Asriel'. When creating the name, he drew inspiration from the video games Undertale and Deltarune.
Xalsier has been active in the furry fandom as an artist since 2022. His introduction to the community primarily came from Warrior Cats, Undertale, and FNAF in his early childhood.
